I found a few videos that help with this secret. One is someone else making a similar prop and showing how they do it. I found tons of the same videos from various news stations where they don't give up their secret, but clearly state that it is not helium or drones. This is the guy that was making his own:
. And here is what someone found and posted that proves that the simplest way is usually how it's done. If you paint fishing line flat black it becomes nearly invisible even up close, and especially at night. Here's what they discovered: Rick A on TikTok

It's all fun until it isn't!
Extra traffic on the street
Cars parking all over the street.
People walking on the lawns.
People gathering outside.
TV crews
Creates unhappy neighbors and brings it into town hall.
Often repeated in a town near you.

Well, they tooted their own horn and someone ended up giving them the finger.

It's unfortunate but we have a house near us that has a similar situation. Their Christmas light display is insane ... But sadly the traffic getting in and out of their neighborhood is also insane. It gets dark around 4:30, and cars start staking out a spot right as school gets out at like 2:30. They turn the lights off around 10pm but even so ... Neighbors have begged for a day off each week.

I get it, it's a busy time of year and suddenly you can't go grocery shopping without planning for a 30 min slog down your own road. Yay for the happy people visiting the lights but not so happy to live near them.

I have one of those neighbors. I made an agreement with her not to complain against my Halloween display and I wouldn't complain against her Christmas display. Even if she did complain I would have just filed legal action for religious persecution as I observe the traditional holidays of All Hallows' Eve (10/31), All Saints' / Souls' Day (11/1), Krampusnacht (Krampus Night) (12/5) and The Feast of St. Nicholas (12/6). I'm sure if the couple filed legal action they could get their display back up.

If you look at this video below they have a hovering Max character prop from Stranger Things that would be fun to use. I guessed that it is a fishing string spanning from the house roof to that light pole. Another YouTube use re-created it with a 75lb fishing wire. Great idea to use with my props. I didn't realize the string was so invisible. See link below

Safety - Fire Trucks and Ambulances win over Halloween or Christmas displays historically.
There are lots of old threads, go too big (all it takes is a TV crew) and its more problems than pleasure.
I'm not sure this is a case of too big, just unusual and was drawing interest and crowds.

Yesterday there was a note in my mailbox from one of my neighbors, but the handwriting was of a child, "I Like your Decorations" the other side a Halloween scene colored in crayon. Better than a TV crew.
