Has anyone seen the Mars Attacks mask in store? My local store hasn’t gotten in and it isn’t on the website. I’ve seen a couple of YouTube videos where they have kind of passed by it but haven’t seen where anyone has really shown it off or what price it is. From what I’ve seen it doesn’t look as good as the Trick or Treat Studios masks but I still want to get one for my mask collection.

Low quality pic that I had to grab from a YouTube video.

It's $80 according to the guy in the video.

I have seen it in store but didn’t examine it closely. I can swing by tomorrow if you have any questions about it.
I saw the mask! It was priced at $80 and is made so that the jaw moves with your mouth. If I hadn't bought the animatronic I would have considered getting it for display. Only thing is, while it does look nice, the way it's constructed to accommodate the jaw action is a trade off on it looking like a bust the way a single piece mask might, if that makes sense.

I asked to be on the list for one of the display trees at a store a few towns away but I think she said they were $250. Maybe that’s reasonable and they are cool but I still cringed. That seems like a lot for a basic tree that just sits there and looks at you.
Yeah, they’re $250. They’re really solid, big, and high quality. Given how cheaply Spirit sells most of their display stuff, I think the trees really are just on a different level and not a cash grab on their part. I still wish they were less of course! Lol. I would have loved to put my name down for more than one, but I couldn’t do it at that price.

$80 is a little high I think for that mask. The Trick or Treat Studios Martian Soldier mask only cost me $70 and it’s a much bigger mask. But with a 20% off coupon that would make it a little better. Having that movable jaw will take a little work to get it to look right on a display head. But who am I kidding if they have it the next time I go by the local store or it shows up online I’ll be buying it anyways.

Not sure if all stores do it but every penny the store makes from selling the displays in our region is donated to the Spirit of Children fund raiser.

I completely agree. This was the 1st yr in a long time where I wasn’t excited over multiple animatronics. I definitely felt let down after people talking it up to be a huge year. 🤷‍♀️
I think Home Depot offers a fairer price point for most of their animatronics vs. SH, but I really like several of Spirit's figures from this and last year that I picked up. Emmeline is a great jump scare prop I strongly recommend (although it has very large dimensions that make it difficult to keep it sheltered, as it's not designed for outdoors), the Widow is a fantastic character design, and I absolutely love the Bog Zombie. Totally agree that the Crypt Keeper was way overpriced. Too bad so many of these SH animatronics are online exclusive, as Spirit's "oversized shipping" surcharges are ridiculous.

Yes, Spirit's prices are high higher than HD, for a variety of reasons that I've elaborated on before. But if you've ever shipped anything you would understand that Spirit's shipping charges are not ridiculous.

Home Depot, Lowes, and Costco don't charge me anything for shipping their animatronics, most of which are bigger and heavier (and often better quality) than Spirit's animatronics. Comparing apples to apples, I think it's bogus that SP tacks on an "oversized item" shipping fee. I will concede that the 20% off coupon helps soften that blow, but the prices SH charges for its animatronics (not including shipping) are relatively higher than what HD charges. I wouldn't complain if there was a SH store near me with animatronics in stock I wanted for which a 20% off in-store coupon would work. But when it's an online exclusive not available in stores, you're forced to eat the oversized shipping fee. Nevertheless, I've given SH plenty of my dollars and am pretty happy with the products I've purchased.

They really annoyed me when they charged an oversized shipping fee for Grave Watcher, who comes in a box not much bigger than a shoebox. It wasn’t a massive fee, but it still struck me as completely absurd. With HD, the line is that if it’s so big it has to ship freight there’s an extra charge to ship to home, and even then you can ship to store for free. That makes sense. Spirit’s policy is unreasonable.

I'm not going to detail (again) why Spirit and HD's prices are different. HD has certain advantages, its shipping network as much as anything.

I think it’s bogus you’re complaining about prices in the first place.

I don't know why they don't just roll the oversized shipping fee into the product price and stop giving the impression that they are screwing you for ordering certain things.

Problem with this is the instore price would also be higher.
