So it's essentially 25% off a single item. Valid until August 22 so you have 5 days to use this.

EDIT: lmao i love how they had to specify that it excludes all animatronics. But I can totally imagine some of you trying to argue with the cashier that Gourdo is a totally normal decoration for the home, same as this tablerunner

I just posted about getting this email coupon this morning under the Coupon Discounts area threads. I also mentioned how to get their 20% off One Item Coupon which expires 8/28, not in October. Clearly looking for boosting early sales this year. Been pretty tough on retailers including seasonal retailers what with covid and horrible cargo shipping issues these past few years. Hope they do okay this year.

Gotta say the Mars Attack guy looks great. Hope to see in person but more than I would spend. Too bad too because I have a few of those dancing alien guys I bought from Home Depot a little while back he would be fun to use with.

Home Depot, Lowes, and Costco don't charge me anything for shipping their animatronics, most of which are bigger and heavier (and often better quality) than Spirit's animatronics. Comparing apples to apples, I think it's bogus that SP tacks on an "oversized item" shipping fee. I will concede that the 20% off coupon helps soften that blow, but the prices SH charges for its animatronics (not including shipping) are relatively higher than what HD charges. I wouldn't complain if there was a SH store near me with animatronics in stock I wanted for which a 20% off in-store coupon would work. But when it's an online exclusive not available in stores, you're forced to eat the oversized shipping fee. Nevertheless, I've given SH plenty of my dollars and am pretty happy with the products I've purchased.

They really annoyed me when they charged an oversized shipping fee for Grave Watcher, who comes in a box not much bigger than a shoebox. It wasn’t a massive fee, but it still struck me as completely absurd. With HD, the line is that if it’s so big it has to ship freight there’s an extra charge to ship to home, and even then you can ship to store for free. That makes sense. Spirit’s policy is unreasonable.
I’m betting it’s inline with what it costs them commercially to ship that size. Shippers keep increasing their fees especially larger boxes which is why retailers try to ship things made in smaller box sizes. In fact haven’t some shippers already announced a price increase coming later this year (probably in time for Christmas mailing)? Shipping these days is horrible especially compared to when I first got into Halloween and ebay items. Also worth pointing out Home Depot, etc are year round stores with lots of other inventory to adjust margins on. I’m happy to see Halloween sold in local stores period.

I read the other day Amazon is feeling the squeeze to cut costs on shipping. Already costs more if you need to return something if you don’t use one of their drop off locations if near you. Now read they are pushing 3rd party sellers to use Amazon as shipper which costs the seller more money sometimes. It all falls down to us the consumer eventually.

25% off two items I think is what you meant to say?

So get a pair of HM candle holders?

It’s slightly better than using the 20% off coupon, if you can shop in-store before 8/22 and buying a decor item. Guess this applies only to items in their Indoor or Outdoor “Decor”section.

I'm trying to tamper my enthusiasm in case things don't work out. But I THINK I'm gonna be the lucky owner of four Spirit Halloween trees this year. I showed up the second day a new location was open. Got there 15 minutes after they opened (didn't want to be TOO annoying) and I was the first on the list and requested the trees, vines and wall-mounted torches.

Does anyone know how these newer trees mount to the ground? It disappears into a hole in the cardboard store display so I can't tell.

Update: Well - by looking at the ISE price sheet it looks like they have bases that spread out like the Swamp Trees did. So maybe they just sit flat on the ground?

No idea, but they are store displays, and stores have concrete floors mostly, so only needs a flat base. Likely widish and metal. Presumably has holes drilled thru it so you can stake it, but even if not, buy some metal stakes with flat tops.

I was going to ask this. My name is on a list also for one but I never even bothered to push on it a little to check how stable it was, nor did I mention to my husband that I'm on a list for anything ha ha. I didn't notice any vines, what were they made of and how much were they? I assume you can't pick this stuff up until after Halloween or can you get it a day or so before?

Swamp trees? Don't remember those.

The trees I saw looked like they were were free standing, but the also had holes along the base for stakes I assume. I like them, but they have some noticeable gaps where the branches attach.

Well I'm having a hard time right now finding a pic of the vines, but they are very legit looking and they're $3 a piece. (AH! Found a pic of one, it's just above in Sabata's last photo). I didn't really bother counting how many vines they have. Hopefully there's like 20 and not 100!!! But if there are I'll either ask to pass on the extras when I get there or buy them and then sell them on here for the same price I bought them for.

I did see a video of one of the trees falling over in a store, so I wouldn't don't know that I'd recommend pushing on it.

The Store Manager said she'd probably call me a few days before Halloween. She expressed that she likes to get the display sold and the store closed for the year ASAP.

The swamp trees were the display trees from around 2016. Stealing a member's pic to post here of the Swamp Tree.
