I’ve carved and painted a Michael’s craft pumpkin for use on a pumpkin-headed cauldron-creeper prop. I’m still trying to figure out the best way to light the inside (given that it’s white and not yellow like a real pumpkin) and how to line the inside so the manufacturing ridges aren’t visible. I’d really appreciate to any suggestions or experiences for lighting and lining.

I glued in window film in the eye and mouth openings. There are a lot of cool privacy types that allow light through. https://www.halloweenforum.com/posts/2596089/
I had some good luck with these led lights from Amazon. They're not super bright, but it comes in a two-pack so you could throw both of them in there. They run off a 9 volt battery, and lasted all night for us.
