This actuallty happened to my mom except at wells fargo they had 900 dollars of hers which for about 6 months they claimed they didnt then we get a call... " ohh we found your claims and they have been refunded sorry for the inconvienence" They were lucky i was at work....

In spite of the warnings in this thread, I took a gamble and ordered from them. I ordered the Toad Lord prop. It's a foam filled latex prop. Order went in on the 23 and the prop was delivered yesterday. The prop itself is huge!! Much larger than I expected but is very imposing and impressive. I took advantage of their sale price so it wasn't a bad deal. The prop is in excellent shape but the packing job was bad. The prop simply was placed into a cardboard shipping box; no foam peanuts, paper or any other packing. The box had a good size hole in the top corner as well but this didn't seem to have harmed the prop any. Overall I'm pleased with the item, price and customer service.

Here is a pic of this monster! It's over 20 inches tall!

Eww. That's more disgusting than a lot of the gore props made around here. It looks like it would give you a disease by touching it!

I pretty much boycott any company like this but at least you got what you wanted. I've gone in on deals *cough*groupbuy*cough* where delivery wasn't guaranteed but I also prepare myself for the fact that things might go south.

I have had great dealings with Haunted Props in the past & ordered this Toad Lord also on a sale they had on it 2 years ago ( It is awesome & yes LiL bigger than I expected ) Packaging could have been better, box was beat up a little, but no damage to Mr Toad !

I guess that there have been some exceptions to the good & bad experiences with this company.......

This all serves as another reminder: Know your credit card's dispute policy, and use it before time runs out. Most credit cards companies are very good about this, especially American Express. Some of them even warranty products beyond the manufacturer's warranty. Having the money forcibly yanked out of their account will wake up a company more than a complaining customer. Also, if it is a continuing problem, their merchant services processor will investigate them.
With the new Halloween shopping season upon us, the above bears repeating with an important addition.

The vendors are aware of your credit card's dispute policy as well. With the crooked vendors, that's the prime driving factor behind shipping delays. If a vendor fails to deliver in a reasonable period of time and they either ignore you or give you excuses, cancel the order and initiate a chargeback immediately. Don't even bother demanding or waiting for a vendor-initiated a refund.

Additionally, upon informing you something is on back order, they are supposed to issue a refund and rebill your credit card at a later date. It is illegal in the United States to charge a credit card before the order is ready to ship. Again, don't wait to force a refund with the help of your credit card issuer.

Haunted Props does very bad business. They claimed they never recieved my order even though it was taken out of my paypal account. They then send me only half of my order and both items i recieved werent in working condition. Ive never recieved a answer back about the rest of my order, This company is a rip of so be very wary when ordering from them in the future....

What a horrible, frustrating experience! I am so sorry for you. I think the suggestion of going to your credit card company is a good one. In my experience the BBB is simply useless. Seems to be there more to protect the fraudsters. Do not give up! They cannot get away with this.

And it's not true that there is no such thing as bad publicity. For a business, especially one that relies on seasonal sales, word of mouth is very powerfrul. Keep spreading the word and we will too. I would not buy anything from this company and I'll tell anyone who will listen.

Please keep us posted and let us know how you are doing with this!

I am always looking for a very good large. And life-sized animatronics for Halloween and when I came across this website I was excited until I saw their pricing. I looked at 1 of their devices that they wanted like $660 for. So I sent them an email and asked them why their product is $600 when I have so many other animatronics in my collection that are very well made, that do wonderful jobs, that are far less in cost. In fact, the product they sell, all it does is shake and shimmer. So I inquired as to why it was so expensive and they said a very small response that it was because of quality. Well again, all of my animatronics that I have are well built and quality made and I don't have any problems with them. But the will not respond and tell me why they are charging so much money for an animatronic. That just simply sits there and shakes. I think I would be very wary before. I spent that kind of money on an amateurtronic did just sit there in shakes.
