I hope they stop bringing stuff back. Many of the repeats made it to clearance this year. I actually expect them to pull back a bit. They are still the market leader but it's clear the demand for Halloween, while strong, isn't on the same level it was for the previous few years.

 

I was wondering if perhaps they overproduced this year too (more than in previous years) and that’s why so many things made it to half off. I fully expect them to pull back and don’t anticipate that we will see the same clearance prices on so many items next year. I was surprised at what I got for 50% off.

 

No more hovering or levitating props. While they are cool to look at, they suck to put together and are difficult to stake down and with the wind that just kicked up in a lot of places, very worrisome. I would prefer more outdoor rated hard body props, skelly, werewolf, and predator minus the wings! So creature of the black lagoon, mummy... and then Frank's monster needs a bride!

If they have a contract with universal, I could see them adding more characters over the next couple of years. Bride of Frankenstein, Wolfman, creature from the black lagoon, the mummy. I guess it depends on how the Frankenstein did this year overall. A lot went to 50 of around here.

I also see home Depot pulling back over the next couple of years. I can see die hard buyers running out of space (i am) with all the large props they put out.

On top of that so many buyers are buying stuff then returning when it goes on sale if they can get it cheaper. I don't see that being a sustainable business model.

I can see them cutting back on the quantities they offer. Unfortunately that leaves the market at the forces of people who buy to resell.

I have enjoyed the last decade or so of what he has done. I hope they keep up with the creativity

 

I think they will add more archways and scenic elements like the skull archway and pumpkin archway as well as possibly bring back favorites such as the pirate ship next year!

 

What would I like to see or what do I think they will have? These are 2 completely different questions. I think that there will be a clown. I think that they will continue with the scene pieces, like the archway, gargoyles, and tombstones. As far as what I would love to see, I think that they always seem to do an "outside the box" character every year and I always look forward to seeing what that is.

 

There'll definitely be at least one clown. They've always had one clown prop since 2022. Teary in '22, Steve in '23, and Trio + Carl in '24.

 

Jack of Spades made me think about how roaring 20s he is with Dean and Marie. Dean and Marie are very versatile because if they had a cowboy Sheriff skelly (would go great with the skelly horse again) they could be used for a Wild West saloon.

 

Sheriff props would be CRAAZY

 

They need to make more weatherproof props

 

Especially with the rise of servo technology being employed more on these props. The jeanie is out of the bag and folks are expecting more life like props. If you can’t keep these props working for extended seasons folks are going to walk away.

 

I REALLY hope that the Home Depot gets the Universal licensing again next year. It’s going to be incredible if we get a mummy prop, And a wolfman prop. If they do this Home Depot would probably be the best Halloween company besides spirit.

I saw a lot of postings about folks getting, broken, damaged and failing props. I think more so this year than others. Maybe more folks were complaining this year….maybe not.

I consider myself lucky since all my Halloween prop purchases did not include those that folks were having issue with the most. One exception was the scary maple tree. The parts should have fitted better. It was a great idea but execution was not the best.

I’m looking forward to what next season brings but keep the quality up. It wont matter much what great prop idea they come out with if the thing performs subpar 😱

 

I was hit multiple times with faulty items. I'm with you, I hope they can get quality straightened out from from their suppliers.

 

I'd kill for an alien prop.

Correct partially. Lowe’s didn’t have an alien prop this year, you probably mistaken it for the deep sea diver.

 

My guess is we will see home depots version of ground breakers, specifically for the 12 ft Skelton and inferno with maybe a new creature design thrown in. The trend has moved from giants to half sized giants.
The indoor 3 footer trend will also continue, which I'm a big fan of. A scaled down hearse for indoor also feels like a possibility.
The pirate ship is going to happen as they continue to bring back a fan favorite legacy prop annually.

 

I’d of course love to see a pirate ship come back. I’d also like to see and animatronic crypt. And a dual purpose talking graveyard skeleton that can be seated or standing that could replace the flimsy thing on the hearse.

 

my hearse blew over in the wind only thing that broke was the skeletons neck. I just pushed it down between the clavicles....lol I actually liked him better with no neck

 

They keep doing jack skellington which I love. But I would love to see the pumpkin king .and others to go with theme.I ordered dr finklestein and already have boogy and sally. I don’t fo inflatables do fingers crossed more of Halloween tow to go with jack and sally.
I did buy lock shock and barrel costumes to repurpose some old props.

 

Universal monsters, with Epic Universe opening it would be a great tie in. Some new giants like maybe a giant Dragon or Dinosaur? or even a Godzilla? These could be 9' and just long pieces instead of truly huge 12-15' tall.

 

I want more set pieces. I’d love for them to make a mausoleum to go with the crypt and archway. In terms of props, I’d really like to see HD and Lowe’s build off of the nautical theme from this year. Bring back the pirate ship and add some new pirates. As some others have suggested, continue the Universal Monsters line with the Creature. But then do some weird nautical props like a siren, shark, sea serpent, Poseidon…to really expand the theme.

Well I want a sarcophagus

 

I've thought for a couple of years that they will eventually do an Egyptian mummy scene and think something like the sarcophagus is a good possibility in the next couple of years

 

Toss in a Sphinx animatronic that says riddles. Only needs minimal mouth movement, no head movement needed. Might be cute if the tail moved. Doing a whip motion like a cat.

A moving tail during the waiting part might let guests know that it's still 'working' rather than at its rest stage.

 

Hell yeah. If they make one it should be withered and cracked. 4 ft and 8ft width.

 

It would also be cool to see a The Mummy animatronic since they did Frankenstein's Monster last year

 

constant On ,off, sensor, foot switch no more timers on props

 

I am all about timers on props. It saves me from having to turn them on and off every night.

 

I wouldn’t be surprised if chucky and frank return in some capacity next season given that they’re licensed, even the 13 foot jack that didn’t sell well came back for a second round this season. That being said I think HD needs to up their game with the 12 footers, i love the levitating reaper but his build quality on his support is awful. Given how fast the bone collector and bumble sold out at Lowes i think home depot’s gotten some solid competition over the past few years.
