Thank you so much, I really appreciate your comments😍 Yes, it's echoed over and over by the parents, that they appreciate knowing our home will be "safe" and non-scary but still an "experience" the kids can be excited about😄 It brings me joy that we see ear to ear smiles no matter the age. So far we seem to hit the sweet spot. And all ages like our displays, adults, teens, tweens and children😉 We do scary things as well sometimes too, money and time permitting. It goes on the small side yard and backyard. The little ones are told to cross the street or not to look at the side yard. Seems to work.Love your ghosts! We also have a neighborhood with a lot of younger kids…and neighbors running chainsaw scares. Something for the little ones is really appreciated by the little ones and their parents.
Any pics of your display?😍 Wow, what an achievement!!! I like the scary ones too❤🖤 This year I'm doing pirates. Hope to do 2 ships. Front yard family friendly, Peter Pan. Back yard, more scary, more like Pirates of the Carribean, ghost, skeleton pirates💀love it! .....
Steal away with my blessings😉 My peanuts gang are kind of like "Where's Waldo" 😆 You'd be surprised how many themes I sneak them into😄 Everyone loves them. I also bought a Great Pumpkin backdrop from Oriental Trading and attached it to styrofoam sheeting. With a Sally and Linus standee in front of it. Sooo cute. So, we had the whole theme going on😊Love this! Very clever! Stealing it!
I do a window projection in our picture window every year, but because there are so many younger children in our neighborhood I ended up ditching the scary scenes and playing It's The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown in a loop instead. It's now become an annual tradition for the TOTs, which is great. But I was looking to freshen things up. This will be perfect for that.
Thanks so much for sharing!
We used T-pins to secure the top of the sheet to the styrofoam ball, just a few. Then, drove some rebar into the ground and zip tied the tomato cage to the ground in 4 places for each ghost. That does the trick. We get heavy winds as well😜 Great question😄❤How did you secure the sheets to the cages? How did you secure the cages to the ground? Just wondering because we get some nasty wind in my area.
I did do a side yard with a great pumpkin background (snoopy rising from pumpkin patch silhouette) from a background scene setter I got from orientaltrading.com. I attached it to styrofoam sheeting, also had Linus and Sally "standee" characters from there, placed by it. And lots of real pumpkins placed in front of the great pumpkin patch background scene. It was soooo cute. Then, other little tomato cage ghosts scattered in the yard. Sheet over styrofoam head, I drew cartoon ghost face directly on the sheet with Sharpie permanent marker. Gave them cute, silly, faces since kid friendly theme. Carved pumpkins with peanuts characters. The rest, farm/scarecrow/pumpkin motif. Raffia and pumpkin lights along fence. Scarecrows, hay bales scattered throughout.I'm really late to this thread, but I love the pictures. Happy you decided to do this. My family loves Peanuts. Do you plan to do anything else? You also put a bunch of pumpkins to the side of the peanuts and create Linus waiting for the great Pumpkin.Just an idea of course!
