Have you tried using laundry detergent? It dries clear on some surfaces and is UV reactive. Just dont use the all free all clear stuff.

If anyone has played Doom 3, there are some nice effects/scenes where a peaceful, normal looking room (very) briefly changes lighting to reveal demonic messages on walls while a scream, backwards chant or some demon growl suddenly goes off really loud. Even in the game, it has a very cool "did I just see that" kind of effect that is also disturbing.

I could see this having a cool, instantly stunning effect on an audience. Imagine a group of actors looking all normal when the "zombie virus" is smoked down upon the group, the lights change, and there before everyone's eyes they change into walking corpses.

Because the stuff is invisible, it lends itself to cool possibilities in scenes where everything is presumed to be normal.

Use Liquid Tide detergent. It dries clear, but glows great under blacklight. I dilute it 50-50 with water to get it to spray out of a squirt bottle for use on my FCG.

 

I got some in a kit some years ago at a craft store.It had several colors and a white that dried clear.Made for a neat effect on tombstones.

It looks like Clearneon is my best bet for multiple colors.

 

Detergent color is not a factor of final glow, detergents have whiteners in them, so the final outcome is a blue-ish/white glow. Dye rit has great for this too,
but if your looking at colors- Clearneon of Wildfire paints are what you have to use. They have sprays or bottles, you can brush on or what I like , load into an airbrush !

This stuff is quite pricey. There's a HUGE variation in pricing between the Wildfire and the Clearneon. The wildfire blue is much cheaper than clearneon's price, their red is about the same (ounce for ounce), but wildfire's green is WAY more expensive.

Somehow I suspect there's a website out there somewhere selling this stuff for way less than these two sites.

 

I've checked, & theses are the co that made them. Usually price dif between those particular paints can be with the colorants they get for the way they're made chemically. One uses a cheaper colorant than the other, & vise versa....
Each has they're own chemical design & what they use to make it glow for them, or they each are just selling more of that color so they jacked up the price........

 

You're right Darklord. I did some checking, and from what I gather, this is a fairly new technology, which means nobody's gonna be having a clearance sale any time soon. Even so, this stuff has some great potential.
