I'm confused - why do you want to cry? Maybe I missed something but I didn't read anything I found upsetting. Pop culture always has a huge influence on Halloween costumes.

 

I understand. I was just looking over Walmart's selection of Halloween stuff and saw like three Lady Gaga costumes...I wanted to stab myself in the leg. I get that you know...annoying girls need something to dress up as...let's just be happy it's not the traditional wh*re-ish outfits.

Frig I've seen those XP I saw a cheerleader with a belly top and fishnets...I think it was by Bratz. It made me want to vomit...

Heck, if I was as skinny as Lady Gaga I'd probably dress up like her - LOL!!!! Now, the Snookie costume - oh please, that is just WRONG in so many ways.....

I totally agree about the other costumes. I mean, come on! Who really wants to dress up like those two? I've never watched Jersey Shore and refuse to ever watch it. It's just a waste of time. There's something about Lady GaGa I just don't like. Maybe it's her crazy hairstyles or her freaky clothes.

It makes me sad to see them making those "sexy" costumes for children. I don't have any kids, but if I did I'd never let them wear something like that.

 

Soon we'll be dressing as ourselves because we're just as famous as some of these reality stars. Everyone has their 15 minutes

 

Living in New Jersey and frequenting the Jersey Shore every year I probably own better outfits than anything these costumes could make. That being said, we've been dressing as 'Guidos' for Halloween for years. It used to be funny, but with the popularity of the show, its just sad.

I noted in a post not too long ago that my Girlfriend and her Gay Guy friend were both going to be Lady GaGa this year -- which I liked because we FINALLY don't have to go as some kinda couple costume.

But as someone said, its popular culture and they have always played a roll in Halloween Costumes. Also, for whats its worth, I am more of a funny or interesting Halloween Costume kinda guy. I am not into all the Zombies and Gore and whatever else.

... hmm, maybe I'll be Snookie for Halloween.

 

There are alot of stupid halloween costumes, Halloween is supposed to be scary. This is just my opinion, I know some people like the funny or super hero or what ever, and that is fine. There is nothing wrong with being whatever you want, but the sex type skimpy costumes really have no place in Halloween. Now don't get me wrong, if the wife wants to dress up sexy for the ol prop builder for all his hard halloween work after trick or treating is all over, I'm all for that. But trying to make all these revealing sexy costumes for young girls is just stupid.

 

I think I'd actually be happy if a kid came to my door dressed as a character from Avatar....last year all the girls that came looked like hookers and the boys made almost absolutely no effort....boy do I miss Dracula & Frankenstein.........

 

Totally agree! I know if we had kids, we wouldn't encourage them to dress like that!

 

Halloween for me is about Horror not dressing like a tart. I find most of the costumes aimed at women and young girls degrading.

 

This just topped the cake today! I work for a publisher in the distribution center. The warehouse manager just came to my office to show me one of our new books. Are you ready for this?? "Lady GaGa - Me & You"! Why does she need a book? Apparently this isn't even the only book she has out!

 

My opinion:

[typical guy]The Lady Gaga costume is HOT. [/end typical guy] But it won't be warn by people that will make it look hot most likely, and I am not a LG fan.

Snookie, don't get me started. Why would anyone with 1/2 a brain want to be her?
