Making a few Great Stuff spray foam pumpkins this year for a few large props I am working on and have a few questions I was hoping someone could help me out with. The pumpkins I have made so far are bout 3 feet in diameter; basically what I did was blow a large balloon up and cover the entire balloon with a thick layer of the foam. I am going to be cutting the pumpkin down a bit to make it as smooth as possible then carving the eyes/nose/mouth out. For those of you who have done these, I was wondering if you coated the pumpkin with anything to seal or strengthen it before painting it? There is a video of a kid making one of these pumpkins for a school project and it looks like he covered his foam pumpkin in Liquid Nails construction adhesive before painting it. Does anyone else use the construction adhesive to coat foam pumpkins or have any other suggestions on sealing and strengthening the foam pumpkin before it gets paint?
