I was experimenting today and came up with a new way to hide my lights. I made the tree stumps from painters plastic, pool noodles and cardboard. I had a bird land on the stump within 2 minutes of putting it outside today.

Depends what the look I am going for. Scraggly like the witches or for zombies, I cut hair off a wig. I then spray adhesive onto the head and attach the hair. Simple but effective for the look I want.

Thanks, A fair point. The lights I have are led and give off almost no heat. I double checked and had the one led light running in a small box with plastic up against large light for 45 minutes. It was as cool as could be. I left the gemmy light running in a plastic bag for the same amount of time with the same result. I will be doing a tutorial and bring the point up in case people are using other types of lights.

Here is my tutorial on making a tree stump to hide lights in an outdoor display. It’s pretty easy to do. This one uses plastic covered cardboard.
