My clearance Buddy the Elf was just delivered and I had a cheap fix idea. Anyone where to find those cardboard celebrity masks? I thought maybe they would have ELF ones at party stores but no luck yet. I want to just slip one over the current face and see how it looks. I'm hoping ok from a distance lol

This was a problem I saw more this year than in years past. Lots of props displayed in the various stores were damaged or defective in some way like the mouth on your photo. At times, I chalk it up to the people that built the prop or to the kids some parents let do whatever they want to the display items without saying a word. Regardless, when I see displayed props having issues across multiple stores, especially early in the season, it makes me question the durability long-term: if it can't make it a few days in the store, that's not promising for it lasting long enough to be worth the money.

Finally picked up my Scrooge from the store. The box is much smaller than I expected. I know I should open it up and check for defects, but since I'm planning to pretty much redo the entire thing, I'm just going to set him in the garage until it's warm enough to get out there and work on him.

If you used the Home Depot credit card to pay for it, you have 365 days to return it if there are any issues or decide you don't want it. It takes some of the stress out of buying items late in the season and wondering if they will work next year.

I picked up my two giant plastic trees this week from HD. I still need to put them together to make sure they work.

I was shaking my head watching the employee get the first one out of their storage locker. The two tree boxes were stacked on top of each other and on a pallet. The employee was tiny and lucky if she was much over 5' tall. She pulls the first box off and tries to brace it herself as it drops hard to the ground. She didn't get a cart after seeing what it was, so she starts pushing the box sliding it across the concrete. At this point, I'd seen enough and walked quickly over to mention that I will use the box to store the tree in and would appreciate it if she would stop and wait for me to go get a cart. Luckily, the box escaped a little scratched up, but mostly in good shape. Fingers crossed the trees are good.as well.
