Hello, me again! Sorry, another quick question, I found this paint online, would this possibly work for the monster mud also? It says it's an "acrylic latex," but thinking it could work? (Didn't know a paint could be both acrylic and latex, but, I guess?.... 😶)

No, elastomeric paint is for stucco finishes to prevent cracking. You want to use exterior latex paint.

You can use any brand of drywall (joint) compound. USG and Dap are the major brands and both work equally well. I personally use Dap and haven't had any issues with it. I also work with smaller batches, 1-gal or less, so I can control the consistence of the material better (make it thinner or thicker).
