Never heard of them before. WHOIS lookup states the site (if it is horrorfxstudio dot com) was registered in August of this year, with only a 1 year registration. That's not good. It appears that they also "curate" their reviews, meaning they can remove/change any of them.

For a company supposedly in the USA, it is using a Swiss secondary registration that hides the identity of the site owner. Lots of the info is in European format, and their social media is filled with duplicate info, but all of it is very basic/generic horror trivia/info, using likely stock illustrations, and nothing of their actual product.

One of the supposdely real maker pics I did a google image search is actually from this guy: Log into Facebook

Many reviews are dated before the site even existed. All of the masks I imaged searched are posted on MANY other suspect sites, but it looks like this site did some basic photoshop to add the smoke effect on black background so it was harder to locate the copies. The Freddy mask for instance - the actual still photos of the mask don't match the video showing the guy putting it on (they are different molds).

Also the prices are really too good to be true. Real quality latex masks cost hundreds.

My opinion: wouldn't trust.

100% SCAM!

If the price is too good to be true, it's almost a dead giveaway you will be scammed! There is a huge and I mean huge trend by cheap import sellers to make utterly poor copies of real mask house artisan masks, then use photos of the real deal mask on their sites while they deliver the utterly cheap knockoff that looks like butt! These sellers are all over Amazon and everywhere and now will pop up their own entire websites for the Halloween rush, what you see is not what you will get if you get anything at all most of the time if the price is too good to be true it's a scam...

This site has all the tells of a scam, and lets be blunt, no one that is legit is offering 50% off sale right now across the board for Halloween stuff!

Anyone ordered from horrorfxstudio and gotten their mask yet? I saw another post on here saying they got a poor quality mask compared to what's advertised. I'm trying to get this website more transparency and help people know what to expect from it. The site looks legit at first glance but the more you dig in the more it seems a scam.

Seems like they use fake images like most of the cheap masks on amazon. Website was recently created, but does have SSL secure checkout. Support contact email does respond to you. I've gotten a shipping number but am not holding my breath on what I'm going to receive. Will most likely ask for a refund if it's possible.

I will say it is most likely a scam. I just went through the process of reporting them to the BBB to try to get my money back. The business/individual will not answer emails or phone calls. The address listed on the website is just a small business center, in which they do not officially exist and I also did a reverse number search on the phone number and it is listed as an individual number in New Mexico (so it does match the city and state).

There was a photo of an artist who supposedly made the mask, but his Studio 135 Facebook page stated that he is taking a break from mask making back in 2022. I did some image searches on the reviews, and a couple of them were from Etsy shops that no longer have items, from online forums, etc.

I did contact BBB and put in a report and all that so we will so how that goes, but if I do receive the product, I will come back and update, but I am pretty sure we all will just receive what Blackheart posted about their mask. Kind of bummed I fell for it, but I guess it is a life lesson.

 

Me too. I was so excited and when it came I immediately tried to return it. They sent me an address to return it to in China that cost $75 to ship to. Very disappointing

I ordered on 23Sept2024, a few days later I emailed, then called because when I tried to track my order it continued to read that my order could not be found.. Oddly I received a text at 4AM from a representative from HorrorFX asking if I needed assistance.. Although I felt it was wierd to recieve a text from this company, especially at 4AM,, the person continued to tell me that my order could not be found with the order number provided to me from the website... Ironically after a long and unsettling run around, I told them that I'd be contacting BBB. Immediately I got a response that they had found my order using my phone number and it was to be shipped the following day...It's now been well over a week... Pretty sure this is a scam.. and by the looks of @BlackheartXlll pics, pretty sure I'm gonna be disappointed... I'll post if I recieve mask..

I still haven't gotten an update past "items have partially shipped" I contacted them about a refund and within a half hour a guy named Josh responded saying he'll give me a refund but my order has shipped and I'll have to send it back or refuse package. I'm tempted to open it when it does arrive but I'm just gonna get my refund and send the **** back. That is IF it ever arrives.

I’ve been fighting with this Josh guy for days for a refund as the policy states they provide return shipping label and he wants to argue they don’t. He goes silent for a while and then relies with a snark remark so I hit him again with facts. This is ridiculous please no one order from these scammers

100%. Halloween is my favorite holiday and they SCREWED me. I feel like an idiot after looking back at the site and actually doing a deep dive. They messed with the wrong one!! Haha lmk if you have anymore info on them so I can pass it along to who I’m speaking with
