That stood out to me, too. It would be nice to see some different talents. Pick the most talented people out there and let us watch them compete.

All the reality shows have figured out that many people like familiar faces.

 

I didn't watch it last year and this year I haven't started it but I agree they need to fill the spots with new people who apply for it. I used to enjoy watching that show. Last few years its been meh...

 

I haven't liked the show since they changed the format and brought that ghost hunter idiot in. The new format is basically a cake decorating contest.

 

That show has definitely lost it's luster. The finished displays are mediocre at best, not even close to the quality of a few years ago. I could be wrong but I think back then the teams only had 5 hours, now they have 7.

 

Is this the show showcasing, or maybe once upon a time, showcasing personal haunts? All these years I thought it was a fever dream I had and I couldn't find it anywhere.

This is the one where they have teams with bakers, candy makers and pumpkin carvers and they make little displays in a studio.

More likely you're thinking of The Great Halloween Fright Fight. That's the one where people competed for best home haunt display. This is a bit of sad one for me because I loved that show and in 2023 I looked at my Instagram DM's and saw I had a 'hidden' message from one of the casting agents for the show who wanted to know if I wanted to be on the show. But I didn't see the message until AFTER Halloween.....
