Cannon prop controller

It's been awhile since I was active on here, but I'm happy to see it's still going strong!

Working on a cannon with recoil using the screen door actuator that Todd Wood used. I think I've got everything figured out except for the controller. What's everyone using if they have this setup or what do people suggest for this application?

Frightprops has many controllers that you can use. They even sell kits with pneumatic actuators and valves.

Can you trigger them with audio? I want them to be triggered with an mp3 file if possible

If you want to do that then you will probably need to look into a dtmf controller. You would use one channel of audio that you hear and the other channel to add dtmf tones which are detected by the dtmf controller and allows you to turn on and off relays. They are easy to find on amazon and ebay.
