If it's actually candy-glass...it would be a entertaining snack, but if not...it's useless.Yeah a smashable mug is justy NOT that spooky, perhaps used in some Zombified Laurel and Hardy theme....oh yeah then would be spooky and really funny too....![]()

I'm fairly certain that was the "intended" description. It is a stunt mug that breaks on contact without causing damage. If that's some sort of "stunt" breakable mug, I think they REALLY need to clarify what the hell that it is the are trying to sell.........does give ya a chuckle though,...LoL
Now if someone would invent & sell some sort of bendable plastic, now there's something we could use..........![]()

That would be nice but it does say breakable glass. what a waist of $20. GoodwillIf it's actually candy-glass...it would be a entertaining snack, but if not...it's useless.

As silly as that sounds...I know many a magic trick that are manufactured like that. I guess it could be possible for a mug...although i'd have to ask WHY? It's still stupid as a haunt item!Maybe it is impregnated with rubber band threads, so when you break it, it can reset & snaps back into a complete mug...........![]()
I knew you were being facetious...just wanted to say that it IS possible, although It wouldn't benefit anyone if it did work as you described. I too have used many gimmicked magic tricks that utilize rubberbands as it's primary apparatus. I have been performing and studying magic for 19 years...so this is nothing new to me. Plus, it spawns ideas into other areas; it's a great prerequisite when designing awesome Halloween decor!I was being facetious ( oh-my big word for the month !)........ Being into magic & illusions since i was 14, ya number of tricks using rubber bands, but I doubt that this mug made like that, was just being silly
( nor have I ever heard of one made like that )
......ya just dumb to buy a "haunt prop mug" for $22 that you break & throw away,.....that's what .24 cent salvation army mugs are for eh ??! But I'm sure someone will buy it.....
could you imagine the cost??? for $20+ per item you would lose so much money just smashing 1 per walk though of your haunt... and i dont think the effect would be worth it, i would almost rather throw a aluminum trash can. lol. Louder and i would think more frightening than a coffee mug.I knew you were being facetious...just wanted to say that it IS possible, although It wouldn't benefit anyone if it did work as you described. With regards to the mug; I assume it's a variant of breakaway safety glass, which orginally was made with crystalized sugar, but theirs no telling what the stunt industry uses now!? Regardless...who would actually buy this?
Here's the other candy glass props that Hauntedprops.com is selling...http://www.hauntedprops.com/category-s/367.htm
haha true...tis true. Although, even for a professional haunt or really any act; it would get very expensive if one needs more than a few breakaway items. I guess if they were made of 100% sugar, one could eat a "plate" as part of a Circus sideshow act but seeing as how that isn't listed in the description...I doubt I'll be attempting it!Ah, a fellow "prestidigitationist", yes definitely helps with creativity and new ideas in Halloween & prop design !
Ya, I'm sure the mug is break away variant, & the bottles, most likely being sold to those needing break away glass items for say a local / home movie,......or a stage performance.
Would get expensive, but if a haunt was doing a live acting scene, say once every 1/2 hr, needing break away bottles, mug, etc. more for a pro payed haunt.
or an occasional joke on a friend, ( who hopefully remembers which bottle is the break away when they smack them on he head with it,.....Hee-Hee )
