Witches Den is Done

Well I finally finished the witches den on my deck . I haven't been feeling well and don't have any energy right now but we have had over two weeks of rain and it is expected for at least another week. It may rain all through Halloween in which case I won't put out my cemetery. That would be a waste of time for one day if everything gets soaked. I can't leave the decorations out in the yard. They go out on Halloween morning and get taken down that night. So with all the rain we have been having I decided I had to do the deck as well just in case. Unfortunately the pictures aren't very good and I still need to get some of the potion jars that isn't blurry. My dog chewed the corner of my camera view screen (by accident) last year and now I can't see what I am taking pictures of so I take 100 pictures to get one or two good ones, if I am lucky. Most of the pictures I took were out of focus and blurry and others were of the top of the props head or a speck on the wall and completely missed the target of the picture. I really have no idea what I am taking pictures of until I upload the pictures to my computer but ...hey...it is an adventure. I will try to get some better pictures soon. These aren't the best pictures but you can at least see what I have put out. Who knows they may end up being the best pictures I get this year.

I bought my first prop, the witch in purple dress and the rest are made of paper mache. The witch that is sitting in the chair is actually a flying witch that goes in the yard but until Halloween she is taking a break.

Hi Marie, I briefly got to see a photo of 3 witches that looked interesting before Pinterest took over my screen and in order to continue to view was forcing me to download their app. Most websites will give you an option to continue on in a webpage but not pinterest. Sorry but I don't like to do my surfing based on ultimatiums. Didn't get to see much but it did look like you did a nice job with the witches and the background brick (assuming a scene setter type panel?). Do you have photos stored somewhere else?

I'm sorry the rain has been non-stop there and if I wanted to decorate outside now it would be damping my spirits as well. Hang in there. The extended forecasts here usually change over the course of a few days and get updated. Hopefully the rain will on out and give you some dry days and a dry Halloween. I know you've been doing a lot of work to pull is together this year so hope things look drier soon.

Their faces are creepy, cauldron looks great. I would just pose their hands a little more naturally, if you can.

Love your potions display. Very nice detail. I love how you used the spider webbing on the bottles, and the broom holder on the wall.

Great display. I love the witches. I have that red one that I bought from someone here this year. I will be back to look more as I get closer to setting up my outside area.

Love the witches! In all my years dressing up for Halloween...I have NEVER been a witch! (I'll have about 27 years of Halloweens under my belt in my thirty years of life) I may have to rethink that and do a witch theme one year! Great work!

Thanks. I like the creepy faces. They used to be more kid friendly and I got tired of them so I changed them last year or the year before. I can't remember.

I can't do much about the hands right now. The tall witch needs it the most but she really just needs new hands and I don't have time to make any. The old crone with the cane I can't change and the other old crone is holding out a bag of witches herbs and the purple witch is holding onto the stand that holds the spirit ball so she doesn't blow around the deck when the porch door is open.

Thanks. That is the first prop I have bought and I just got her at the local store on sale for $19.99 and I was so surprised to see the price since it is so much more online.

I usually dress up as a witch or an old crone when I hand out the candy. I love witches and...well really...anything witchy.

Off my meds & im the goddess thanks for your comments.

The broom hanger was hanging in my kitchen with 3 pictures of fruit on it and I thought it would be perfect for the brooms. Last year I was trying to decided what to do with the brooms and I was glancing around the room for ideas and there it was right in front of me saying "use me, use me".
