After building up my front yard homemade Halloween display over the past 6-7 years with a variety of props, I've decided to wipe the slate clean and try something new this year. My daughters (7 and 5) have requested we go with a new theme entirely - WITCH WORLD. I'm looking to this group for ideas for the best witch-themed homemade props (nothing too crazy difficult to make considering it's August), store-bought outdoor decor, lights, music, etc. We try to go all out every year, and I'm committed to pulling together something strong for the first year of WITCH WORLD. My guess is this will probably be a five-year phase that we build on every year. Please, all ideas are welcome!!!

I am certain the talented folks in here have DIYed versions of this, but I bought last years cauldron from Home Depot and I LOVE it. This is the new version: Home Accents Holiday 5 ft Bubbling Cauldron with LED Fire Halloween Animatronic 22PA60171 - The Home Depot

Another cute prop are the 3 all in black holding hand witches. Big Lots has a similar version for cheaper and I have seen folks post a DIY on them. I purchased these on sale at Grandin Road last year and put them around my cauldron. I will look for some pictures. https://www.grandinroad.com/ring-of...j4DRzcbxPOc7rOw95GGJsw2XarVah3IgaApJ-EALw_wcB - I think the thing that frustrated me about these the most is they are battery operated (at least last years were). I love just being able to set everything up to a Google smart plug, set it, and forget it!

This is so exciting! I love witches—
Here are a few pictures. The cauldron was given to me from a great reaper and I painted it up to look a little more rusty. Then I put a fog maker with lights inside. Here is the link Fog Mist . I also made burning 🔥 coal with spray foam and some lights and added a bit of color (black).

Also found a box of some old glass bottles for free on Craigslist a few years ago and turn many of them into potion bottles (fun to do with kids).

and last but not least some animatronic witches in which 2 regular size ones I got at “The Christmas tree Shop” for about $40-$50 many years ago and still work great. I spoiled myself last year and got the 10 foot witch from Party City (Halloween City). It was a hit! Love it so much!

Witches and their cauldron are excellent, maybe a shabby little shack with shelves holding potions and a spell book or 2, some witch lanterns hung from trees.

I like the ones I made... I wanted them to look more real.

This picture is when they were almost finished. The one on the left I added the arms and built up the frame. She also wore a veil over half her face. The one on the right, with the eyes removed, held an eyeball in her right hand to "see" with. They surrounded a cauldron lit by wood wrapped in colored lights and dry ice inside the pot, with hands trying to reach out. I thought the little kids would avoid them, but they liked them the most. Pictures were being taken most of the night... Great photo opp.😁

According to the Home Depot website, the cauldron is "out of stock". But you can give them your email to be notified of when it will be back in stock.

This year I’m going with an organic witch style, lots of browns, dirty cloths, swamp lamps and pieces of wood, moss, voodoo doll, baskets, caldron, skeleton heads, lost and lots of nature stuff.

I usually use dollar tree stuff, sticks I got from my backyard. You can sense the vibe I’m going for. If you want to go with a more Victorian witch vibe I would say lots of black and ornate books etc
