I was working with one of my Monster Guts wiper motors today and something occurred to me that I thought was worth sharing. I've seen several posts about breaking the shaft on the gearbox when tightening the nut. If you're using the original splined stub arm (or your own replacement) you can tighten or loosen the nut without putting any strain on the shaft or geartrain. All you have to do is replace one of the three gold mounting bolts with a bolt long enough to intersect the plane of your arm. It's then a simple matter or installing the arm so it hits the bolt and tightening the nut. The force is transmitted to the bolt rather than the shaft or geartrain. Once it's tight, simply remove the long bolt from the mounting location.
