We went to Rogers GArdens today and saw live and in=person the Lord Display large frame from Katherine's Collection. It is gorgeous.

I also love the Countess.

DH says I can buy them. Altogether, they will come to close to $2k.

Would you? It's a lot of money for a Halloween prop...but we'd put them in a Halloween room in our new house and they would be loved all year.

I had the not feeling it thing last year. Lead me to procrastinate setting up my decorations and I didn't have everything set up until literally the moment when the first guest rang. I was not happy with 3 or 4 effects that were "OK" but not whoa, some things were not mounted to last the night and fell some equipment go forgotten...

For me I started this year with a Trello list, of all the things I could do, and trimmed it down to the ones I was excited about. Out of these I picked a few projects that set the bar a bit higher than last year. So now I have some high (for me) skill challenges to get stoaked about. So I have the full force inspiration behind me.

That's got to be a big fat NOPE for me - sorry ;).
I don't have a clue what these items are but for $2000 it has to be way more than decorative. I would be thinking about all the things that could be fixed around my house for that money. But that's just boring, practical me!

For those wondering what these are & don't wanna search:

Lord

Countess

Both very large & very heavy.

I'd have to leave them out all year to justify that kinda money, but it's your money not mine or anyone else's here so it really doesn't matter what anyone here says. There's plenty of "normals" that wouldn't spend $20 on a Halloween prop yet would spend thousands on season tickets for their favourite sports team so it's all relative.

If you've gotten the "OK" & don't owe thousands to the IRS, go for it.

I'm a cheapskate so that's a hell no from me. I even took a look at the thing to see why it would be that much...yeah not worth it. It's pretty ugly and if you were crafty at all you could totally make something that looks the same yourself for less then half the price.

i just couldn't go for both so I chose the Countess--she is fairly 'affordable' and I really, really liked her in person. I liked the Lord, too, but I dunno if i liked him $1k worth.

I figure i will use the countess as a focal piece and then make other family portraits to go with her.

Nope, IRS is all paid (for today...lol) and we don't have any home repairs or improvements to do on our house. We haven't gone on vacation in a year (until this week in Southern California and half of that was free). Kids are all fed and the light bill paid. We haven't even gone to a Red Sox game in a couple of years--I love going but see the action much better at home. :)

its your money & your decision to spend how you want ...

when i spend $ i always look at the "bang-for-the-buck" ratio ... i might, according to some, spend foolishly, but to me, what ever i get has, at least to me, a high ratio ... but my "bang" might not be your "bang" ... we all have different tastes & priorities :)

Those things are awesome! If I had the money and the freedom to decorate the house as I pleased, currently confined to my computer room, I would have them in the entry way so everyone could see.
