It looks like it is a Humphrey Quick Exhaust valve. We use them a lot on our conveyor lines at work. QE2 is the model number

You don't need a quick exhaust for a air cannon if you are trying to recreate it. You could use a check valve. This moves the air in one direction and not allow it to go the other. It makes activation readily available by filling the tank. Air cannons are hogs of air and you can "charge" the tank and not worry about other things taking that air. The most air are used from cannons, air whips and linear slides so you should have one right before these type of props.
