...and while the Halloween decorations are safely packed away, the house is not dark and empty. I decorate for Autumn/Thanksgiving with artificial autumnal leaves, various turkeys, plain orange plastic pumpkins (the realistic looking ones, not the trick or treat ones) and orange, red and yellow artificial flowers. I have left the various red, blue and green LED bulbs in my lamps so the Halloween lighting has now become this month's lighting. I miss the Halloween decor; the house seems somehow emptier without the skeletons.

I did get in the mail today a Halloween decoration which I intend to use next year on my mantle. Lol, I can never resist a post Halloween sale. :p I've gotten a lot of my Halloween stuff, even from Grandin Road, post Halloween. Got some good stuff that way.

Love your post 馃巸

You're right, November does feel dark and empty. That's why I make pumpkin stacks & topiars. I also drive around looking for unique types left out on curb on garbage day.
Haven't been interested in Halloween sales, xmas has taken over

Btw your title reminded me of this poem by Thomad Hood.
Titled: No!

No sun鈥攏o moon!
No morn鈥攏o noon鈥
No dawn鈥
No sky鈥攏o earthly view鈥
No distance looking blue鈥
No road鈥攏o street鈥攏o "t'other side the way"鈥
No end to any Row鈥
No indications where the Crescents go鈥
No top to any steeple鈥
No recognitions of familiar people鈥
No courtesies for showing 'em鈥
No knowing 'em!
No traveling at all鈥攏o locomotion,
No inkling of the way鈥攏o notion鈥
"No go"鈥攂y land or ocean鈥
No mail鈥攏o post鈥
No news from any foreign coast鈥
No park鈥攏o ring鈥攏o afternoon gentility鈥
No company鈥攏o nobility鈥
No warmth, no cheerfulness, no healthful ease,
No comfortable feel in any member鈥
No shade, no shine, no butterflies, no bees,
No fruits, no flowers, no leaves, no birds,
