Can anyone recommend a good blacklight for my flying crank ghost, which will be in a mausoleum?
I'm coloring ghost and the 16" blacklight I'm testing with, and the one I was planning on using, certainly ain't cuttin it!
I need something really good, but don't necessarily want to spend hundreds of dollars LOL! ;)

I have a regular old 16" blacklight I picked up from Party City that I use for my FCG. It works perfectly well, and cost something like $12.

I mounted mine over the top of the door opening. If you want bigger "oomph," you might try two mounted on either side of the opening. Still would be pretty cheap considering.

Funny story. Last season I was looking for a blacklight tube fixture to light up an entire room. I started at the pet store but they were too expensive. In true Haunter fashion I figgured I'd just make one myself, so I went to Home Depot and got all the parts. 2' light fixture housing, wiring, blacklight bulb, and wiring caps. After carefully and fearfully reading the instructions on how not to electrocute myself, I actually made it work. It lights up a 10'x10' room. Whole thing cost me under $35.

The next week I was back in HD looking for something else, and happened to walk down the lighting aisle. There, about 3 feet away from the original fixtures I had bought, were pre-assembled 18" black lights for $14'ish.

Those Elation lights are nice, on Amazon.com they're about $110. I bought just the bulbs and made my own mirrored fixtures, it's really easy. The bulbs are 100 Watt UV fluorescent with a standard edison screw-in base and you can get them for around $35 each. The part number for the bulb is: LL-UV-W100. I would think a single bulb in a ceiling light socket would be plenty for a mausoleum.

I second that! Elation bulbs are great! By building the mirrored housing, you save some $ that can be invested in another bulb!

Wow, great suggestions everyone! Thanks so much!
The one I have currently I think I actually got from Party city and it is just not bright enough...The Walmart idea sounds EXTREMELY tempting, but I would prefer spending my money elsewhere...

I've spoken with KY SPFX, they are super nice people to deal with, and would absolutely recommend them but am afraid the shipping would be expensive for their bigger light; however the HD is just a mile from my house!

I'll have to check out the elation bulbs but am not sure how to build the mirrored housing..is there a how-to?

We used the Blacklights from Walmart... They are $10 each. We also used a myriad of the Shoplights from walmart with the black lights.... We had soooooo much black lighting it was AWESOME last year. For small spaces, I recommend the smaller ones from Walmart. We have 15 of the small ones, and 4 of the big shop lights....

Mind you the Black Lights were on the OUTSIDE of the patio, facing out, and they still shed that much light on the patio....We had these awesome paper lanterns for our central lighting, and the blacklight flowed into the area making it look creepy awesome.

We also did a "rabbit hole", and had the small Walmart Blacklights about every 6-8 feet... they really did the trick and made it crazy awesome... The whole thing was 50 feet long. I think we used like 7 or 8 blacklights down the whole thing.

I love UV light...its like magic. You get good fluorescent tubes and the quality of the UV is so good that nothing that is not a reactive color is lit up at all.

I've had the shop light fixture with two tubes (read that as super intense UV) leaning against a tree in front of my FCG and (since the tubes were blocked from direct view) no one could tell how the ghost was lit. Everyone thought the crank mech was where the light was coming from. I love UV light!!!
