I do not want a full on fogger coming out of the face of my pumpkin (that's just too much) but I would like a misty atmosphere for my green LEDs to pour though.

Has anyone bought an Ultrasonic Mist producer on the cheap? It essentially atomizes water into a vapour.

Any info would be much appreciated.

Or, if you have other ideas for getting a localized, misty atmosphere in my pumpkin head please let me know! Dry ice?

Bought one last year for a witches cauldron. Not cheap, but the effect was better than a fog machine. I've used an ultra sonic mister for a couple of props. Most of the time, I will use a hidden 5 gallon (or smaller) bucket with the mister, water and a lid. The lid will have two holes in the top. One for a hose (I use the small size shopvac hose) that will lead the fog/mist to your prop and the other a small 12v computer fan which blows air into the bucket. This air flow will force the fog down the piping to the prop. Sometime you will have to adjust the speed or at least the position of the fan to get the right amount of air flow.

That's exactly what I'm looking for but on a MUCH smaller scale. I just need to fill up the cavity inside a large squat pumpkin head.

I bought a $9 one off amazon and was really happy with the result. I set it up in a dish basin to test it out and my son declared it 'the spooky water' and we were both delighted with the amount of mist it produced. This is the one I bought, you can see dozens of listings for the same one Color Changing 12 LED Mist Maker /.

One thing I didn't like is that it spits out water, so you wouldn't want to use it anywhere that shouldn't get wet. I ran mine for a couple of hours and it soaked a towel under the basin. Not a dealbreaker but something to plan for.

I just went through the exact same process. Bought a cheapie on amazon for a witch's cauldron, it was $10, doesn't produce a lot of mist and spits water everywhere. I ended up putting a small clear plastic bowl over the "fountain" and that works pretty well. It looks very cool, but if you buy a little guy don't expect the world from it.

I used a small one in a black plastic cauldron hanging over a "campfire" in my Western-themed haunt. The campfire was lit by one of those flaming cauldrons. Didn't work as well as I'd have liked, the mist seemed to curl back into the pot instead of pouring out. I am guessing it was the curvature of the pot or something else physics-related. Used dry ice the next year. Not as convenient, but the effect worked.
