In no particular order:

Silent Hill
House on Haunted Hill (99 remake)
House on Haunted Hill (original Castle version - 1959 with Vincent Price)
Identity
Bride of Frankenstein (duh)
Frankenstein
Susperia (stunning use of color and composition with a great plot)
Pan's Labrynth
Shawn of the Dead (not strictly horror, but still)
13 Ghosts
House of Wax (Vincent Price, 1953 version - NOT the crap that came out recently)
The Mummy (1999 Brendan Frasier one)

The one downside for both movies is both are offered in fullscreen format only.
Neither was shot with a widescreen lens, although they were matted at 1.85:1 for theatrical release. So nothing is being lost by showing it full screen; to the contrary, more image is on the screen in the home video version.

Please dont take offense to my comment here but, the question here is not your favorite horror flicks but hidden gem horror flicks which others may not have seen. I would love some of these recommendations so I can get ready for halloween night.

no offence taken. i guess we just miss read. it's not a horror slasher type movie but i liked it. the reincarnation of peter proud. an abusive guy who's wife kills him, then he is reincarnated as a good guy. he doesn't know this so he falls in love with his daughter. his wife figures out who he is.
