ok i ave finshed a few of my stones. ( ok 15 ) some are done to this point some are half way some have just been cut out.
but the thing i have to ask is how would i go about ageing them? ( makeing them look old)
Very nice stones. There are many ways to age them. Here's what I do:
Take some dark gray paint and really water it down. Then, really saturate your brush and starting at the top brush it down. You want to see lines of drips and such. This will simulate years of rainy weathering. Then take some lightly grayed white paint and dip a large 3" brush into it. Then wipe it on a paper towel so most of the excess paint is off. Now, start brushing it onto the tombstone so it paints the raised areas on the stone. That will give you a stone look. It's called dry-brushing.
If you want to go the extra mile, get some orangy paint (raw sienna) and paint some small downward stroked here and there. This will give you a rusty lichen look. You can then also hot glue some moss in areas too. Hope that helps
If you want to see some pictures of what I'm talking about, swing by my albums.
