as I mentioned in another post :) a friend of mine had found a crazy deal on this scare factory tomb entrance, it also had a midnight studio prop on top was a deadite I think... the price was a give away deal.. but I'm in Canada he's in Illinoi !!!!!! 13 h to get there, just too far and the guy couldn't ship either.
so I built one, turn out nice, but much bigger than what my brain envisioned LOL well, it's what I tell the wife anyways..
I'll add pictures in the next following posts, so to start with the build. and the original I missed out on.. 40257895_261904944447406_244483690405560320_n.jpg 41772106_10157840081002571_6716246888552595456_n.jpg 41804945_10157840283712571_8942761714370215936_n.jpg View attachment 565845

here, I've added the final top part, made it in two pieces, so I can store it somewhere lol and it's already heavy as hell.
maybe I should have went with 1/8 ply and 2x2 versus 1/2 particle and 2x4 build LOL
I've pretty much finished painting it, I think I might add a few more highlights to it, of course moss, then as soon as I set it up, maybe this weekend,
then I can add the broken wall section, I need to set up my spider si I know exactly where she jumps out and how much space she need !! I don't want her realy smashing trough the wall LOL, spider webs too and maybe the satic version of it climbing the side wall, if I can figure out how to hang her there..

thanks Zombie4 :) yep, just painted with outdoor latex, then dry wrushed some details with ligther greys, some blacks and white.
it does brake down in 4 parts
2 x side columns
1 x top part, the one with the arch and skuls
1 x second top part, the detailed roof top that slides on tom..

kept the back side ope so I can set a few screws to keep it in position and to access from behind if I wanted to add lanterns or fire baskets.

the top section, has an opening with a flat spor of 24" x 40" long so I can set up a prop looking down..

thanks, :)

the total height is 11ft, it's 75" wide at the base. the columns are 7ft H and the inside width is shy of 48"
made mine a little wider than the scare factory, wanted to make sure my jumping animated spider from nevermore would fit.
and it's 46" deep, deep enough that it can be used as an actual entrance..

Thanks all :)
KWII!!! Off season??? What off season?? LOL my wife asked me the exact same thing.. where the hell was I going to keep that thing??
I'l admit that, this one is a doozy, I have a huge shed where I will organize the space so I can keep it there, having the back open, this will serve as storage area for opther props in the off season.. so far, it works in my mind hehehe will see how that goes in real life :) or i'll just set it up as my main gate entrance for the back yard :)

Very nice! But massive. Personally, I could not store it. I have been thinking about a witch's shack made out of foam board insulation for the effect and for shelter from weather for some electrical stuff. Anyone done something like that and have suggestions?

Thanks all. @Hallo, the size will be challenging to store, I have a plan, should work lol
I've also been wanting to built a witch hut of some sort..
I've also used foam boards for builds in the past, they are ok for some areas or parts.. but for me, being set up outside all month, foam builds just aren't strong enough, and wind is a problem.. but for detailing foam is amazing..
Check out oaklane cemetery, he has an awesome witch hut :) can surely find him here, if not check him out on facebook.. i'd give you a link but i'm on my cell right now, it's limited :(

I've been thinking about using a pop up tent for the structure of a crypt, then throwing camo netting (I've got tons of it) over the top until it looks like overgrown vegetation and maybe an airbrushed canvas tarp for the front facing wall, something that could be folded up and stored in a tote....The pop up should help protect the electrical stuff and fold back down into a small space when your done....ZR

Amazing work. Been looking in on the thread every so often and just wow with the lighting on it. Your neighborhood kids are in for a treat for sure!

While this is way beyond anything I'd ever consider doing (cost/tools/talent/storage/setup LOL) I really am enjoying looking at it. Hope you'll come back and post a video of the kids' reaction to it on halloween night.
