Kind of a specific request, but if anybody who bought the animated alligator skull from Target last year could post some pictures it would be much appreciated! Is it animated like the dog skull from the previous year or just static? If so where is the motion sensor?

Figuring our props to expand my bayou area and was thinking of buying one off ebay.

Thanks! I didn't know if that large plastic section in the back was for some kind of mechanism, good to know. Your painted version looks great!

As ooojen said, it's static. The square piece I guess is just for the hinge so you can open and close the mouth and the mouth will stay open. However, then you see the square piece inside. If you got creative you could camouflage it.

Rustie, As for the back portion you could affix some black landscape fabric over it I suppose for quick cover.

The picture was taken in the harsh light of day, with the idea of showing what I did, rather than showing the prop off to its best (creepiest) advantage. With the back painted dark, and dim-ish lighting from the top, or slightly behind on the side, the square "block" is hardly noticeable. Of course you could close the mouth, but then the teeth aren't as much of a stand-out.

I probably wouldn't do it now. It would be rather bad taste... but Halloween is still 4 months away.

I put a fake hand in mine to help camouflage a color-changing fiber optic light that I bought at Dollar Tree.

I put the light in the mouth, then the hand, and at night in this cabinet, it looked pretty spooky & you couldn't see that square part in the back of the mouth.
