I made mine last year and it was a pain in the a$$ keeping them up over the windows; mainly because I used mover's tape. I do not want to use velco because I dont want to have them stuck on there. What I might do this year is use fisher's wire but not sure yet.

Any more advice is welcome!

Meltyface - Looks good so far, a black base coat and then the dry brush top coat and you're ready.

Berserker - If you have brick you can use brick clips and fishing line to hold them in place. I also place a piece of foam on the vertical sides and use a #8 finish nail to hold them. On my Hardy siding I use cup hooks to attach the fishing line, they also make clips for vinyl siding. You can hot glue the horizontal boards to the vertical ones for more support

I did these for my house a few years ago. I did the "woodgrain" using a wire brush and then airbrushed them and dry brushed them to match the wood look. I affixed them to my window frames using hot melt glue and it did a fantastic job. Have a look at my profile pics for a look....if you need any help....gimme a shout..."Scruff

I used 1" foam board instead of Styrofoam as its easier to handle and doesnt make the white things everywhere. I cut a frame to fit snuggly inside the window about 6" wide then used the peice cut out of the center to cut into strips for the boards. On back I used some old used thick mil plastic from painting and cut it like broken glass then finished the back with black landscape fabric. Let's some light come through and great with a bulb behind it at night. You'll need foamboard, foamboard adhesive, plastic and landscape fabric. To keep them in the windows I cut a few wedges of wood to stick around the outside. See windows below. Property Facade Sculpture Window Building

That's beautiful ! But, you're crushing my ego. ;) I'm doing some boarded windows this year, but they're nowhere near THAT. Great job!!!
