I would plan on using GAG Studios approach (flat backs with capes), split into halves (top/bottom) and removable appendages.
BUT, that does not reduce the volume of the stored display, just makes it easier to move.
For storage, parts need to "nest" like the Russian Eggs, which is what is holding me back form making my fake straw bales.
Can't decide to make them nest (each a little smaller) or use them (all the same size) as storage boxes.
