My wife purchased online during December from Spirit website a Barnyard Butcher full price, and they sent a pile of used crap with brokenparts, no instructions, no packing, power cord not wrapped or in any type of box - obviously used at one of their shops and dumped on a family at Christmas.

My wife bought this with paypal so she will hopefully be somewhat protected. What really sucks is that there is an invoice in the box so they knew this was damaged and used.

I realize they are a sponsor here, so I am curious how this post will be received. This was not some purchase done Nov 1st at the store but done December 3rd when they offered "free shipping" on new merchandise and was a Christmas gift. Their website says to return something I must submit the order number and it must be 9 digits, I have two order numbers, one 8 and one 10 so I am unable to do anything online. The receipt also says no returns after 14 days, hopefully paypal will see this differently.

That's a pretty sad situation, especially at Christmas. I would be highly upset, too.
I hope you can get some proper restitution from $pirit.

Your right to be upset, when looking at your pics, i said to myself "it looks like they sent a box of random broken parts". It's sad when companies cut corners just to make a quick buck. I hope you still had a Merry Christmas and that $pirit will make this right for you.

Spirit Halloween has responded very quickly and they are sending out another Barnyard Butcher, thank you for your help Larry.

I should mention that I probably would not have responded to this so strongly had it not been a gift from my wife on Christmas. I am fortunate to have a wife who will buy me a Barnyard Butcher for Christmas and seeing her feel badly after going out of her way to surprise me with it really hurt. Today she went out to Screamers (our local Halloween shop) and picked me up an animated Zombie because she felt bad about what happened. How can you not be fortunate to have a wife like that.

Was there ever any explanation from Spirit about how this all happened?

No explanation but they acted quickly to resolve this, I suppose that's the best anyone could hope for and they are trying to make it right. If I was to make a guess I would suspect this was a demo at one of their stores that was returned for credit to their main office. This would explain the wear and tear, lack of instructions, no packing material, broken parts, etc. However I am only speculating.

The new Barnyard Butcher arrived today and is working well. Everything was better including the packaging. The first one was shipped without a box while this one had an external box. Below is a pic of the original one received (on the right) and the new one (on the left)

Sceamers ( The halloween store your talking about ) is that in Fraser MI. ? If so I visitied that place when I was in Fraser MI. back in Oct. AWESOME place.

Yes, that is the one (on Gratiot around 15 or 16 mile). Always Halloween there and a friendly staff.

Ooooh that was like getting coal in your stocking! I don't recall that prop. Was it in the stores? Creepy looking.

I had something like that happen to me one time when I ordered a fiber optic xmas tree from someone. It was a clearance item. The tree part came but the base was missing that created the light for the optics. In my case they said it most likely was a return and a clerk didn't check the box when it was returned to make sure it was all there and just restocked. It happens. Sadly being a clearance item, they had sold out of it. My bad luck as I really liked the tree too. Glad your situation turned out better. Sounds like your wife is a keeper!

Yes it was in the stores. We loved it when we saw it but had no place for it since it did not fit in with our plans for 2014 (our display is set up before Spirit opens stores). However by getting it during the off season we can work it in better and build a scene around it.

I am sure something similar happened with this one that happened to your tree.
