I wanted a lantern for my Skeleton , Spirit has a really nice "classic " lantern except it comes covered in blood.

Not what I had in mind - I cleaned up the bloody globe by soaking in some soapy water. The lantern was cleaned up by a scotchbrite pad and painted with a "red oxide primer" spray paint. I then used OSHA Orange misted on from a distance to give it a orange dusting.
The globe was dirtied up with a wash of acrylic craft paints, brown for a grungy look, and black for the soot.

Anyway I hope you like it, total time involved was less then 30 minutes.

Very nice! I would never have thought of buying the Spirit Lanterns (the blood didn't sit well with me, either) but now that I see the potential I just might have to snag some!

Great job on the lantern Rumsfield! The pics of your display are great. I really like how the skeleton turned out and the scarecrow is really spooky.

Nice job Rummy. I've seen the lantern before and always thought to myself, "Why did they have to splatter it with blood?" Yours is a 100% improvement.
