Ok...so I am looking to order some fragrance oils again this year for our foggers, but I am stuck on what to get. We are doing a witch/harvest theme and beyond "campfire" I am lost. I have heard of patchouli as a witchy fragrance but truth be told I've no clue what it smells like.
Suggestions? Please and thanks!

IMHO patchouli smells like a filthy, weed smokin' hippie. :D "Filthy" as in not very clean, weed smokin' as in "smoking marijuana" & hippie as, well, hippie.:D

Seriously, I really do tend to associate it with weed, mostly because that's the incense that all the pothead friends used back in the day (& some still). I have NEVER liked it & never will. Not because they were bad people or anything, I just don't dig the smell. It makes me gag.

Yet my friend Heather, who is not a filthy, weed smokin' hippie, loves it & wears it all the time. When she does I stand upwind of her.:D

It really is hard to describe. There's plenty of incense & candles in most stores that you can check on the smell, but it's really one of those things that really is it's own scent.

Patchouli is definitely something you need to smell before you buy. It's pretty potent as RCIAG said and I have found you either really like it or you hate it. There isn't really a middle ground.

Sage was a good suggestion, I think campfire is nice or burning wood smell in general. Clove always makes me think of Autumn too. Maybe some sort of citrus/clove combo, give mulled cider vibes.

This. Exactly this. I don't HATE the smell, but I can only stand it in small doses. It's pretty potent.

What about sandalwood? That's a nice, earthy scent.

I have never tried to add scent to my foggg
er. it says not too on the instructions.. I was worried that I would screw up the device. Can we do this??
We have done it for about....4 years now? Never had a problem. We always give them a thorough cleaning with vinegar water after each go though. Just make sure it is fragrance oil and NOT essential oil. If you are still wary about using raw fragrance oils, froggys fog juice has scents specifically formulated for use in fog machines!

Omg ok thanks folks hahaha I don't know if I want our front lawn smelling like dirty hippies haha. Although I am loving the clove idea too! (I love clove! Can't believe I didn't think of that one!)
Thank you guys! Loving the suggestions!
I have also heard of poking cloves inside of your pumpkin lids if you use real flames. So maybe I will try that to get the clove scent, and use a smoky fog scent. Maybe a mossy/dirt smell too?
I may have to take a wander down to a local hippie store and have a whif of patchouli haha
