I have a small group of friends (4 or 5) that I will be inviting to my house this year for Halloween, and am searching for party/game ideas. Obviously I can't do anything elaborate, as it would be totally lost on such a small group of people, but was wondering if any of you had ideas that would still make it memorable. I have the food covered....found some pretty good things online that I'll be making, but am stuck on the game aspect. Anyone have ideas?

what type of games do these friends typically enjoy? there are some really good murder mystery games that can be done with small groups if they'd like that. i can't find the link right away but one of the companies that makes those games is run by one of our members--i'd highly recommend her stuff if you decide to go that route.

If y'all are into card games, obviously Cards Against Humanity springs to mind, but another really fun card game that can be played with small numbers (up to to 4 players I think) is Gloom by Keith Baker.

Thanks for finding the link....those games look pretty cool but I'm not sure that will work for such a small group. Their "search by number of players" doesn't seem to be working quite right because when I search for 5 females, it automatically assumes 5 females and 5 males and gives me a 10 player game. I'll keep looking though, maybe I'm just missing something.

Win lose or draw

or minute to win it games would be great with a small group. lots of competition between each other and you could have prizes for the winner. or a trophy.
I thought about minute to win it....the only drawback there is that most of us work at the same company and anytime we have team building activities or celebrations, a lot of teams do minute to win it games. So it wouldn't be anything new to them. I'll definitely keep it in my back pocket though!

Yes! I have Cards Against Humanity on the agenda.....I bought it during the holidays this past season but haven't had the opportunity to use it yet. So that one is a definite :)

Just looked up Gloom on Amazon.....that's definitely something that might work too. I'm dealing with a bunch of creative people and this looks like it might be in our wheelhouse. Thanks for the suggestion!
