We got the Grandin Road skeleton dog this year and paired it with an Animated Hex in our graveyard scene (a boy and his dog - LOL). My husband had a last-minute idea to add a hedge shaker inside the dog's ribcage, and the effect is great! We removed the eyes from the hedge shaker and used the included twist ties to attached it to a rib (so it won't rattle itself out). Now the dog growls and shakes a little when triggered, and that noise triggers Animated Hex. Looks like it's going to be a quick and cheap addition that will really improve the scene, so I thought I'd share for anyone else with a skeleton dog.

Happy haunting!

I just happen to have that dog, and in the grocery store today, the hedge shaker was half off. I read your post last night, so picked this up. I left the eyes on, but turned them upside down, so the ribcage glows red when he shakes and growls. Thanks for the great idea!
