Okay, I need the forum to help me out. I cannot find the power adapter to Spirit's Misfortune Teller. I have learned my lesson in the past by frying props with the wrong adapter. I no longer have the instructions so I do not have any part number. I have the wiring that the adapter can plug into, I just need to know what the adapter is. I am hoping that I can find the adapter somewhere in my house.

Below is a pic of the Spirit prop.

From what I've seen of Spirit Halloween stuff they use your stock power transformer adapter type supplies. The big problem is to need to know how much voltage and amps this prop needs to run. With most normal electronics this information is written both on the power supply and the actual item itself. I don't know about Spirit Halloween stuff however as I've never bought any.

I tried looking it up(as I'm sure you did too) and had no luck. Spirit is basically home build stuff made cheap production so I'd assume most of it is 12v but none of that can be sure so without official manuals I can't tell you specific of what you need.

Demeris, as you guessed, I am really hoping that someone has the prop and can identify the adapter for me, so I can order a similar one on ebay/amazon. I have two of the Spirit jumping spiders and they use 6v/2a. One of my spiders actually has a sticker that lists about 15 Spirit props that the 6v works on. But alas, the Misfortune Teller is not one of them.

Just as an FYI, the vast majority of props carried at Spirit in last few years (I think regardless of manufacturer, but am not sure) are 6 and 2. Even a few years ago it was an incredible mishmash. I still haven't figured out the cord for the guy rising from a barrel with two knives. I bought used, no cord.

Any adapter that does 6v with a positive tip will work then as long as it delivers 2A. What's in that thing that it needs 2 amps? Is there a strong motor? Of course, they could have economized and bought all the same chargers for all the props and sized it for their biggest one.

I always tell people to collect any walwart from any device you ever had. I have a box of at least 50. Some power supplies are the older kind with a large transformer. They are heavy. A lot of the newer ones are switching power supplies that upconvert the frequency from AC 60Hz to 20,000 or so so that the stepdown transformer can be tiny. Then the AC is rectified to DC These are very light, like any recent phone charger. Just make sure it is a AC/DC power supply and not an AC/AC power supply.
