Okay, I have a really big box. It is cardboard, but I could dress it up a little. It is heavy and thick and sits on a pallet. Dimensions are probably 3.5x3.5 and 5.5ft tall.

What is the easiest way to make it shake with a 'do not open, dangerous animal inside' type of vibe?

(In my head it doesn't constantly shake, just random jerking movements)

Easiest thing to try would just put a moving tox in the box, something like this: https://www.amazon.com/D-Y-TOY-Weazel-Ball-Weasel/dp/B000PKFJKG

Moves around inside the box, bumping into the sides at random.

I had considered that, but I want the box to really shake (but randomly) like something is trying to get out.

Use a 100rpm motor and put an offset cam on the end of it. It you want it random put it on a timed relay. If you need something now you could use a powerdrill and do the same just tape the handle to speed you want.

Now, there is an idea. If I used the crappy old corded drill in the garage, offset cam with something to thump the box, and put it all on the floor lamp switch, I could have it under my foot (I usually sit outside) the drill power up and down when I tell it to, then next year do a basic motion sensor or something. If I suspended it from the top of the box I wouldn't have to worry about it wrapping around the drill either. Alright, hopefully I have time to pull it off. I'll let you all know.
