I have spent the past 10-15 years building a large collection of small indoor Halloween decor items. I have 5 large plastic bins of items and another 4 large boxes with larger Pottery Barn items. My family and I will probably be moving to Hawaii in August and we will be in a small condo (500-650 square feet). I am selling nearly my entire collection of books and films to a used bookstore, but I am not sure how to whittle down my entire Halloween collection to 1 bin to keep.

I will be in Connecticut through the bulk of July with all of our things. Is anyone aware of shops in New England or even New York City that might buy Halloween decor in bulk? It's mostly mid-priced merchandise from places like Pottery Barn, Pottery Barn Kids, and Williams Sonoma but I also have a few vintage items (1970s neon green Beistle skull, vintage Japanese white reaper Spirits holder, etc.) Should I hold a tag sale advertising "Halloween items" or try to sell as many items on eBay in the next 2 weeks and donate everything else?

I love my items and hate to see them go, so I'd like to lean towards a way of destashing that gets these items into the hands of other Halloween lovers rather than Goodwill.

Check your local Craiglist, sometimes there's listings there for people that will take anything Halloween related off your hands & you could always post anything to sell there too so you wouldn't have to ship anything.

And there's always everyone here, we are MORE than willing to pay for something (+ shipping) to take stuff off your hands, myself included, especially that 70s green Beistle skull!:D

I agree with ^ I am always looking for new stuff. Don't be scared to ship anything, a lot of us are willing to pay.

Pottery Barn items are also popular on Mercari if you want to check that platform out. They have a much simpler listing form with less required details than eBay. Might save you some time if you want to list a lot but not spend the time typing in specifics.

Thanks for the responses guys! If I have time in the next couple of weeks to upload pictures to the Buying/Selling sub-forum here, I will. :) Otherwise I'll just upload photos of the items from my phone to Mercari and Craigslist. I'm going to miss my collection so much.

Hi there,
Do you by any chance have the gemmy animated electric heart with the pull lever that lights up and makes electric sounds? I’m looking for this for my mad scientist seen. PM me if you have one for sale. I’ll gladly pay you to ship it to me in PA!
Thanks,
Brandon
