for the first time in 6 years we have had to cancel our party. my husband is working out of town the entire month, including the weekend we had scheduled the party. we cancelled in plenty of time, but I get text messages and people asking every day if we are sure we have to cancel it. makes me sad and happy at the same time, knowing that so many people see the hard work and are really going to miss it as much as us this year. I have lots of projects to do, so I guess this gives me extra time. I can't even go into a Halloween store or decorate at work, as I have to ignore it's coming....:(

Aw, that is pretty sad. :(

I'm so sorry you have to cancel your party, but maybe you could have a few friends over and do a mini party? Or even ask the ones that are texting you if they want to come over and help you set up, you might be able to still have it?

We're going ahead with our party despite the weather being predicted to be bad - possible thunderstorms. :p But there is no other time to really have it so it was either cancel (nooooooooo!) or go ahead and deal with the stormy situation, and we have made adjustments to the layout of what goes where. I think for whomever does show up, it should still be a fun time. :)
