REVERE, Mass. —The city of Revere confirmed Saturday that a Revere fire captain is on paid administrative leave after an altercation involving children Friday night.

Sources tell 5 Investigates the altercation involved trick-or-treaters in Capt. Carl Holmberg's neighborhood.

Rest of story at link.

We live in a gated community. Really gated. Super gated. We had a maintenance man remark to us that our large display at halloween is rare because of too many "crazy people" and that ToTing was becoming something that many parents will not let their children do.

I have seen a few "How Rude were your ToTs?" threads, and saw this story and had to post it.

(I like to read the comments on news articles on the internet, and if you read a few for this story, it seems that many people familiar with this area seem to side with the firefighter.)

Firefighter loses due to being armed with a golf club. His wife makes it sound like it was a random attack while they were escorting the son during trick or treating, but he had a freaking golf club with him, which gives a lot of weight to the "Git offa my lawn" counterclaim made by another parent.

What if his costume was golfer, and he had the club with him as part of the costume?
