I am looking to trigger my zombie shambler seen here http://www.halloweenforum.com/halloween-props/144267-my-zombie-shambler.html

He is driven by a wiper motor, using a switchable ac to dc power supply 9-12v. kind of looks like this http://i.ebayimg.com/images/i/141188175993-0-1/s-l1000.jpg

I would like to trigger it to run for like 2 minutes and then shut off for 5. Does anyone know of such a device?

i wonder if a fog machine timer can be hacked to do this? obviously, i don't know if this can be done or not ... lol ...

there are ways to do what you want ... but i'm uncertain how electrically proficient you are ... hopefully, someone will have a cheap simple solution

Yes there is, matter of fact there is a member selling, he has 3, I just asked to grab 2 so he may still have 1 left & this would do exactly what your needing.
you would have to supply your own trigger - sensor lite, mat or manually ( easy to do ) & these are no longer being made. I have a few of these & they work great ! Here is the link to his 4 sale thread here -

Not sure if you have tried to power a wiper motor with that power supply but it likely won't do it. That power supply only puts out 500ma (1/2A) Not nearly enough for a wiper motor. As for the controller to do what you want, there's lots of choices.

That's not the exact power supply I have. that was just an example. the one I have I bought from either Radio Shack or Walmart long ago, and it has worked great for years, with other props.
If you can solder or find someone who can then the below is what you need to do the job.

You will need a 12V supply to power this which I think you have in your switchable power supply or just connect a new one. You can also wire this up to a try my button on the device or something similar.

This device will just continually trigger with a set "on" time and repeat time.

That timer in post #8 only has a max "on" time of 5 seconds and a max "off" time of 60 seconds.

Good eyes! thanks
I think you're looking for something like this:
http://www.hauntedillinois.com/fogtimer.php
The Haunt Master flex has a 2min 20 sec on max which looks like what you want for 2 min on, but only a 2min 20 sec max delay before next reset......it does not auto repeat & must be re triggered to be active. Haunt Master did make a repeat timer, glad I bought a couple.......wish they were still around, liked they're controllers.

The on and off time can be extended by changing the resistors. Really not that hard but would require some work.

If you need something with an extended time range then go for this version, it is over kill for what you want but will work fine.

I was able to purchase a fog timer from spirit and even though it said not to right on the box, i took it apart. mapped the 3 wires and was able to use it for my zombie prop and a light. The timer I bought only runs for a max 10 seconds with a repeat to a max a 200 seconds, which is fine I currently have my zombie set to run for 10 seconds every 120 seconds. Love it. Thank you everyone for the ideas.
