can you tell me is there not that many home built props on youtube or other places or am I just not looking up the correct things

I think if you put in a specific prop you might find something or if you know who to follow that would be helpful also.

There are tons on there. You might need to search for a specific prop. One place to find lots of things is Allen Hopps videos. Look up Stiltbeast studios and you will find lots of things.

His work is AMAZING.

You can search for things like cauldron creep, animiatronics (sp?), graveyard lifter, halloween prop hacks, etc.

Also if you are not familiar with Haunters Hangout, join their Facebook site. It is an open forum but has 10,000 members and there will be LOTS of posts. Awesome place.
