I got dizzy over the years reading projector posts but have decided to take the leap and give it a try. Can someone give me a specific projector recommendation (brand/model) to try atmospherefx on? Cost is not as important as having a projector I will be happy with but I would prefer to keep the cost reasonable.

Not sure by your pics but are saying you're only gonna have 4' for projector throw?
Yes. That would be the plan. Projector positioned underneath the bumper of the truck projecting to a wall 4 feet away. Too short for even a short throw projector?
I have no specific purpose (e.g. what to project and the size of what to project) - just wanted to play around and that looked like the best place to stick it. From previous post I'm guessing it's going to get complicated but was hoping somebody would suggest something with enthusiasm, I get it, and if it don't work I can just blame it on the recommendation and hold myself harmless : - )

+1 - Too close for such an extreme angle. One of the things I do is roll up my garage door all the way and cover the opening with brick-patterned background paper, then cut out a "window" and mount my shower curtain just behind it. I project from the INSIDE of the garage and get a fairly decent effect. Maybe you could do something similar with that hanging drapes thing you're doing? Just a thought. I was using an Epson EX-3212. It has 2800 lumens, which a lot of folks here will say is overkill, but I also use it for big-screen movies in my back yard, so I'm happy with it.

I got a cheap 3000 Lumens "suppose to do everything" projector on
EBay (item number 281847260664) to play around with (number 13 on the list).
Expectations are low. Wish me luck.

Something is terribly wrong with my brain. I just packed up the last of 2015, already have
a project list too big to finish, promised the wife to finish the bathroom remodels, and
now decide to play with projectors!!!!!

As always I'm ready to call it quits, watch the videos, and get all pumped up again : - )

Oh my god...those are awesome videos. Love the scare videos(laughing pretty hard at some the parents' reactions) and the cops stopping by too. Way to go man! Keep it going! Got me pumped for next year too!

The $167 projector arrived and I was blown away by what it would play from a thumb drive. The directions were lacking (it pretty much had an arrow pointing to the projector with a caption that said projector) but it didn't take long to click enough buttons to get it to do stuff. As reported by others, I was a little naïve about the distance of the throw. My guess is that the projector at the office has better optics that allows for a much broader throw range and might be why it cost thousands of dollars. Anyway I got the roaches and pumpkins from AtmosFX watched for hours and am completely hooked. It's 3AM and I'm headed outside with an extension cord and an off-white silk bed sheet (don't tell the wife) to see what it looks like. I'm pretty sure it complies with the no power tools before dawn restraining order.
