I have been looking at the animated/singing pumpkin animations that people use with their projectors. I have absolutely no experience with projectors and I'm not great with electronics (thankfully my husband is tech savvy and can figure things out)! I'm not looking to spend very much, I realize that you get what you pay for, but can anyone point me in the direction of a cheap "beginner" projector that I could use?

For pumpkins, look for something with 50 - 100 lumens; that should be plenty. I you have a digital file, as opposed to a dvd, look for an SD card slot. Or if you find one with an HDMI connection, it's easy to use a Chromecast to simply wirelessly transmit to your projector.

Get a commercially known used projector for anywhere between $50-100 (far less if you get lucky on ebay or craigslist).
