I don't normally purchase ripe pumpkins until a few days before the Big Event. But this year I spotted a pair of real beauties and had to snap them up before somebody else did. I've got them in a cool place, dark, on cardboard, coated with a layer of Turtle Wax. Hey, it works with automotive paint.... Anyone have any suggestions re: how I can keep 'em fresh for another three weeks?

As long as they're not carved I never have had too much of a problem with my pumpkins lasting until long after Halloween. To be honest, in some cases months after Halloween. If they are in a cool place, I would say you should be fine as long is there are no pests or defects in the pumpkin to begin with.
