Hey, gang.

Most folks will probably be carving in the middle of the upcoming week, but I thought I'd start the thread now.

We wanna see 'em all!

Post pumpkins, rutabagas and smaller turnips, whatever.

Post classic faces, intricate designs, sculptures, whatever you want. Let's get the lanterns online.

I'll post ours from last year, just to get things started. We will probably carve on Thursday evening this year.

My daughter wanted a lion, so I tried sculpting one. We carved 2 others as well. Still have 2 more to carve tonight.

First one I tried doing with a drill bit on a hand-held drill, fast but messy.

This was a weird year for carving pumpkins. Usually my sister and I go back to the parents house to carve. This year, my parents separated so we carved at my house. On the bright side, they all decided I could keep their pumpkins for my display. I also got to keep all of the seeds! Yummo!

I couldn't decide if I wanted to carve or paint, so I did both.

Neither is an original design, but they are what my girls wanted.

The eldest carved most of Jack Skellington herself, so that was a neat milestone.

It's always neat to see a first carving by a youngster, and both of these are really classic.
