Been meaning to get around to this for a while, and finally got my parents to dig out ye olde photo albums. I should be shocked at the lack of photos of my first haunts, but...I'm not.

Well, I've spoken before how Halloween at our place was something mom hated. She was thrilled when I started haunting the front porch and she didn't have to do anything, and I started building my own costumes at 8, because I got tired of THE BOX she would pull out each year that we had our choice of a couple stock costumes. Still, I would generally wear one of the stock costumes to school because I didn't want to tip anyone how I'd be dressing to scare them later.

So, a little Unorthodox in the making:

My parents early camera had...issues. Water in the lens or something, they don't remember...so...well, pics sucked.

I was clearly THRILLED at being Dracula. Stock costume #1.

I remember this costume well, as it become my go-to school costume as I got older. It was not in the stock box at the time, and was the first costume I built myself (with a heck of a lot of help from grandma). No idea what's up with that hat...I loved hats, guess I decided if I was a ghost I was keeping my hat.

Brother the stereotype...

Stock costume #2.

This is what happens when you're my younger brother and you want to be a robot and your 9 year old brother decides if mom's going to refuse he'll do it instead.

Too cute! I posted a thread like this last year, I think, but nobody else posted. :(

Here are a couple of mine that my mom decided to upload to Facebook. She always made my costumes, and she did a really great job on them, too!

Wonder Woman, probably about 4 years old, and the little witch (always a favorite of mine), probably about 3 years old:

Cat, age 7 or 8:

I love how Mom didn't just slap a cats ear headband on me and smudge some whiskers on my face with her eyeliner. No, she went full-on Broadway musical Cats instead. Leotard, full headdress, full face make-up, furry gloves and anklets, the works. I got a LOT of compliments on that one.

I need to see if Mom ever uploaded a picture of the mouse costume from when I was two. That was a good one, too.

so cute guys, Ill see if my mom can get me some pics. We also had a box but we did decorate for all holidays, bought and or made what we could. My favorite memory is being in the back of the station wagon and my mom and grandma driving us to the big neighborhoods. The back of the station wagon was filled to the brim with candy. :3

I have pics of me as a very young child wearing one of the old classic "Skeleton" costumes. When my Mother took the picture I was barefoot (Which means I am DEAD!) (Remember Paul McCartney walking crossing the street on their last album, he was barefoot= "Paul is DEAD!"

I have ZERO pics of me as a kid ToTing. Mostly because I didn't do it a lot because I was terrified of going up to strangers houses & asking for candy. The very thing they taught me not to do they wanted me to do ONE NIGHT & I just didn't dig it.

Now, I have have plenty of pics of me from Homecoming Week in jr. high & high school, maybe a high school party pic, but none of me as small child going out ToTing.

First of all, I can not wait to see this thread fill up...it's already a blast to see these photos, and I'm very hopeful there are more on the way! :)

Second of all, I now have to hit up my mother to get a hold of me in that ^ exact same Spider-Man costume. I think I only gave it up because it just plain didn't fit anymore....

This is a bit hard to see. I'm the headless horseman in the center back. Was peeking through the buttons. I hope I have a better picture somewhere, I won a prize at the elementary school contest they had after the Halloween parade. I took my dad's coat and put a box in it to hold the shoulders out, made a bloody stub for the neck and pinned a pair of dad's gloves to the end of the sleeves. I was so proud of my work!

OMG these are all so cute! Love this thread, I don't have any pics of me, they are all at my Mom's house.... :(
I came across my pic when going through pictures that I'd taken when home for my mom's funeral. I grabbed every pic I could find, I had to buy a carry on to bring the extra stuff home.

Spectacular contributions, everyone. This thread is awesome:D

If I come across any pictures of costumes from when I was younger, I will be sure to post them. I have never been anything cute; to give an idea of my getups, I have gone as Satan (very first outfit, lol), the Grim Reaper, Dracula, Blade (Puppet Master), and other dark characters.
