To be honest I didn't know exactly where to post this!

I am planning on building a few tombstones this year and wanted to get a sample of real moss and lichen to look at when painting.... I found a tree at work that is covered in green moss and lichen! So here are a couple of pictures, some green moss and some grayish colored lichen. I hope these can be of help to the tombstone painters out there that are going for a realistic look to moss and lichen.

Looks like painted corn flakes or dried oatmeal would simulate it easily enough.

Still in the planning process. I have a few store bought ones I want to repaint and will be making a few new ones too. I'm hoping to achieve an authentic look for my cemetery next year.
