This goes out to anyone who has experience to sculpting teeth out of clay. I'm working with air dry paper clay, and quite frankly my teeth are turning out a bit on the crude side (and not in a desirable way). Could someone please lend me your expertise in the form of a tutorial?

The best way I make my teeth is out of cold porcelain
It dries like stone. It is the color of teeth. You can make many teeth out of one batch.
You can make them sharp as you like. Easily sanded. Easily painted. They are better than clay.
In my opinion. And from experience. It's the best way and result.
Go onto YouTube. And type in cold porcelain. Glue. Corn starch/flour and lemon juice. Cheaper than anything you can buy.
You can also make zombie eyes out of it.
Go for it.

Also try the Sculpey clay... http://www.sculpey.com/
I made my Predator teeth with it and it worked well using the white or off white, staining with paint, then baking. Pretty hard and just a bit flexible.

Thank you! I'm assuming that's a polymer clay? I've recently experimented with Fimo clay. . . So far I'm pretty pleased with that. . . Far more so than I was with with the paper clay. Still, I will play with all of your methods to see which best suites my purposes.

I've used paper mache, porcelain clay (as in stoneware not the recipe burnley0 gave) and Sculpey/Fimo to make teeth. For me it depends on what materials I have on hand and what I want the final product to look like. With paper mache I can get giant odd-shaped monster teeth for really cheap, but it's one of the most complicated and time consuming processes. Porcelain clay is nice if you want something that looks really realistic and if you want something small and thin (fragile), but it's costly and requires a kiln to fire the pieces. Sculpey/Fimo is great if you want that clay look and only need a few small-ish teeth but you don't want to have to invest in a kiln, buy 50lbs of clay and spend the time drying and firing pieces.

Cold porcelain is air dry by the way.
I forgot to mention that.
Needs no kiln or oven to dry.
As witchy mama above says. Cold porcelain will give you the color and texture of real teeth.
You can also make fingernails too

Gloss is a must with teeth if you want them to have that 'shiny white teeth' look.

I have used Apoxie Sculpt to make teeth as well, Sculpey is cool because it has a bit of a translucent quality like real teeth.

I used a weird way to do mine but worked great and was hard as stone. It was what nail salons use to make acrylic nails. Takes a bit of practice but in the end worked great.

Terra's teeth. I asked a local orthodontist if I could have a plaster mold of teeth (they usually throw them away). Using the same stuff to make acrylic nails, I coated and built up the fangs and other teeth. Finished with painting them.

Teeth with acrylic applied (several layers).

Teeth all painted.
